Wildlife Projects

Tree Kangaroo,
Papua New Guinea

Over the years, in my pursuit of working with wildlife and conservation, I’ve been fortunate enough to have encountered a variety of amazing wildlife species both within Australia and overseas. From working on koala nutrition, health of Proserpine rock wallabies and quolls and cane toads to the health of wild snow leopards in Mongolia for my PhD.  In between I have been the field vet on numerous trips to PNG looking at the health of the endangered Matschies tree kangaroo and to Madagascar looking at the metabolism of Lepi lemurs.

My most recent trip was to Laos working with an NGO called “Free the Bears” that rescues Sun Bears and Moon Bears from the illegal wildlife trade and bear bile farms. Other species also come into the sanctuary that are rescued including monkeys, leopard cats, red pandas and a variety of birds and reptiles. So sad to see but there are some amazing people out there who work tirelessly to help save these animals.
